KAMPALA- Students from various schools especially in Kampala were in high gear for the Francophonie celebrations over the weekend that was hosted at Bishop Cipriano Kihangire in Luzira.

The mood was palpable since   moments like these are opportune for the young lads to express themselves with utmost vigor, charisma, skill and through talent.

This was the same at the celebrations, and a number of schools delivered their A – game through entertainment, drama , poems , fashion and design as  way to promote the french language at the school.

Speaking at the event, Prof. Edith Natukunda Togboa, chief guest and lecturer of  french thanked the students and teachers for putting in efforts in regards to  promoting the language in a fun and likeable approach that is attracting to the young generation.

“With such intervention, we are tapping into the students because they  enjoy and love simpler and fun modes of learning and expression of themselves and this  also has  created visibility for the French club at the school”. Prof. Natukunda added.

Mr. Lloyd Mugenyi, French teacher, Bishop Cyprian Kihangire, said that for them it is just the beginning of the bigger things that they are using to spread and share the French to the rest as much as possible.

” You have seen for your selves and this what the Francophonie  is all about and we are ready to make sure  you have the best so that  you can understand , appreciate and immerse your  selves  in this language that is so rich ” he asserted.

The participants hailed from over 10 schools around Kampala that included; Makerere College, Green Hill Academy, Queen of Martyrs, and many others.
